I had my new XPS 8920 delivered today with pre-installed Windows 10. I am trying to install ubuntu 16.04 LTS on it but to no avail. Here is what I have tried so far:. Downloaded the ubuntu ISO.
Burned it on a flash drive with rufus (partition scheme GPT for UEFI). turned off the fast startup. Did the Shift+Restart, then UEFI firmware thing where it tells me that I need to click restart to get access to the UEFI firmware. when the system restarts, it just boots back up to windows. If I try to press F2 my screen remains black with my monitor's light blinking and nothing happens.
I have to press escape for it to start windows. Cannot seem to figure out how to select the USB drive as primary boot device. Any help/leads would be much appreciated. F12 booting is not offered unless F2 CMOS setup has SECURE BOOT OFF and CSM ON.
